On the upside:
Libra is a cardinal sign, and like the other cardinals, Aries, Cancer and Capricorn, it needs to go out and actively do something; in this case, communicate and relate. Librans are constantly trying to get everyone to talk so that common ground and harmony can be reached. This is because they subconsciously believe that if people aren’t talking things will break down and the world will go to pot. Librans have a strong sense of fairness and equality. Charming and often attractive, Libra is the consummate diplomat, and is capable of getting his or her own way whilst at the same time convincing you that it was all your idea in the first place!

Possible downsides:
Librans can become so caught up in trying not to offend anyone (basically because they are terrified of being disliked), that they will agree with all sides and become very indecisive and confused … This can be seen as two faced and hypocritical by more decisive types. Their emotional nature can also make Librans quite naïve; however he or she will find dealing with strong emotions (such as anger, jealousy etc) very difficult and so will suppress them. Also note that Librans tend to work their way through the decision making process out loud: so don’t mistake what they’re currently saying for their final decision, this may just be point 4 of a possible 15 steps!

The bottom line …
Above all, Librans long for harmony and balance, but do not want to use conflict and strong emotions to achieve this. But Libra can bring beauty and grace to our sometimes unpleasant world. And if you need a diplomat to smooth the waters in a tricky situation, Libra is definitely the sign to call on!
