On the upside:
Being one of the Earth signs, Capricorn is cautious, realistic and practical. Capricorn is instinctively in tune with the natural rhythms and cycles of nature. Time and wisdom are the secrets to Capricorn’s success, and these are the tools he or she uses to work towards mastery, which is their main driver in life; to master the world around them, as well as their own fate. The pictorial symbol for Capricorn is half goat, half serpent-fish, which points to a more spiritual side to this earthy sign. Capricorn’s quest is also to understand the mysteries of the universe, though he or she would probably not advertise this facet of their character. As part of the process of gaining the respect they work so hard to earn, Capricorns are very careful about their appearance, both in dress and in social behaviour. They function well within a traditional family structure and enjoy the responsibility this provides.

Possible downsides:
This is a serious sign, with no time to waste on horse play and frivolity. Capricorns are reluctant to open up to others, which can cause problems in relationships. If you’re in a relationship with a Capricorn, don’t be surprised if their need to be in control extends to controlling you as well. This sign enjoys power and status, which is why many politicians are Capricorns or have it prominent in their charts.

The bottom line …
Organised, disciplined, conservative, responsible; this sign won’t rely on others. However Capricorns are great builders, able to share the benefit of their innate wisdom which comes from hard work and experience with others. There’s no question that once a Capricorn decides where he or she wants to go, they’ll get there, eventually, no matter how many years it takes.
