Better Business decisions with Astrology
So all astrology does is keep you entertained for a couple of minutes when you read your horoscope in the paper, right? Wrong! Astrology is a far more complex and versatile subject than most newspaper columns give it credit for. As early as 2000 B.C the ancient Babylonians were using the patterns of the stars to make predictions. In the middle ages a King wouldn’t have dreamed of going into battle before he’d consulted his court astrologer to check that the time was right for victory. Nowadays business is more competitive than ever – so wouldn’t it be great to have a tool that allowed you to get the timing right? Something that ensured your next move was successful and that you stayed one step in front of the competition? Look no further, astrology has some great ways to keep you ahead of the game.
Mercury retrograde
Mercury, planet of trade, commerce and communication, appears from our viewpoint on earth to change direction and move backwards every four months or so. During the periods when Mercury is Retrograde, communications can be difficult in all respects: conversations are misunderstood, sales pitches backfire, faxes go astray and post may be delayed or lost. This period can cause chaos when working to tight deadlines and computer equipment may also mysteriously play up. It is a time for catching up, reviewing and tweaking strategies and plans which have already been implemented, and not for pushing ahead with new initiatives. Contracts should not be signed if at all possible during Mercury Retrograde periods, and if they are, all of the i’s should be dotted and t’s crossed and rechecked several times and the small print closely examined. Mercury Retrograde periods for 2004 are as follows:
• Tuesday April 6th 9.28pm until Friday 30th April 2.05pm
• Tuesday 10th August 1.32am until Thursday 2nd September 2.09pm
• Tuesday 30th November 12.17pm until Monday 20th December 6.28am
Venus retrograde
Venus is retrograde for approximately 6 weeks out of every 19-20 months. In the business world the planet Venus symbolises assets and credit, purchasing, alliances, contract negotiations and approval or acceptance of goods and services by customers. Introducing new products during Venus retrogrades is not good: financing to support the product or service may not be available and assets will be valued downwards. This is however a good time to re-evaluate partnerships and supplier relationships. Do not sign legal or purchasing contracts at this time. You should also avoid buying new companies or businesses, divisions, or the rights to a product as these may well turn out to be overpriced, though this may not come to light until much later. Venus retrograde periods for 2004 are as follows:
• Monday 17th May 11.29pm until Wednesday 30th June 12.16am
Mars retrograde
Mars is retrograde for approximately 10 weeks every 2 years. This is a good time to reconsider and revise your business motivations, company goals and your strategy for the next 2 years. It is, however, a gad time to launch new products, for the following reasons:
• The product or service will turn out not to be ready for the market or vice versa
• The product or service will turn out not to be correctly defined for the market
• The product or service will prove to have quality or mechanical issues
• There will be inadequate promotion to drive the desire for the product and therefore sales.
In addition, the stock price of a company can go down during these periods, with a worst case scenario resulting in bankruptcy. The last Mars retrograde period ran from late July 2003 until late September of that year, and the next will be from early October 2005, running into early December.
So with a little forward planning around the timing of new projects or major decisions, and especially by avoiding Mercury, Venus and Mars retrograde periods, astrology can help ensure your business prospers.
