Aquarius: 20 January - 18 February*
On the upside:
Aquarius is a very social sign, and has a strong affinity to the group. An Aquarius is happiest believing in causes, is often politically active, and can often be drawn to social work or education. This is a fixed sign, and like Taurus and Scorpio, Aquarians are reluctant to change. They are intellectual and clear-thinking, often inventive and ahead of their time in their conceptualisations. Although they need a group or social structure to function, at the same time they rebel against structure or try to stand apart from it in some way. Aquarians hate above all else to be seen as selfish. They are dedicated to truth and objectivity; they wouldn’t be unfair to you even if they hated you.

Possible downsides:
Aquarius’ reluctance to change his or her mind can at its extreme lead to dogma and stubborn, even fanatical behaviour. There is a certain ruthlessness about this intellect-driven sign, who can accept a few casualties along the way if it’s for the ultimate good of the many. Aquarians dislike emotions, both their own and those displayed by others, as deep down they are rather frightened by their feelings.

The bottom line …
Aquarius feels safest with what can be explained by reason and logic. With its focus on the welfare of the group, this sign can have difficulty relating one to one. But there’s no doubt with their radical ideas and pioneering spirit, Aquarians are a humanitarian lot, often way ahead of their time.
